This privacy policy applies to the Gittim app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by İsmet BALAT (collectively, the "Application"). İsmet BALAT is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
Gittim is a personal travel-map app. Painting your map, counting the places you have visited and sharing your map as an image work entirely on your device and do not require an account. The Application also offers an optional Friends League feature that requires signing in with Apple, shows advertisements to users who have not purchased Gittim Pro, and offers a one-time in-app purchase (Gittim Pro). This policy explains what information is processed in each case.
The maps you create — the cities and countries you mark as visited, your lists, and their names and colours — are stored locally on your device using your device's standard app storage. This data is not transmitted to the Service Provider unless you join the Friends League, in which case only the information described below is synchronised.
If you choose to join the Friends League, you sign in with your Apple ID using Sign in with Apple. In that case the following information is processed and stored on servers operated by our hosting provider, Supabase, Inc.:
Your username, display name, visit counts and the map of visited places are visible only to the friends you have added. There is no public leaderboard or public profile. Other users cannot see your e-mail address.
When you share an invitation link or your travel map from the Application, the message may include your username and a link to a web page inviting the recipient to add you as a friend.
You can change your username and display name, remove friends, and delete your account at any time from the Settings screen of the Application. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, username, friend connections and synchronised visit data from the Service Provider's servers. The maps stored on your device are not affected.
Users who have not purchased Gittim Pro may see advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process device information such as the advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and interaction with advertisements, in accordance with Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. On iOS, the Application asks for your permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt before any data is used for tracking; if you decline, you still see advertisements, but they are not personalised using cross-app tracking. No advertisements are shown to Gittim Pro users.
Gittim Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Purchase status is managed by RevenueCat, Inc. on behalf of the Service Provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase receipt information from Apple; the Service Provider does not receive your payment details. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
The Application lets you export your map as an image and share it using your device's standard share sheet (for example, to social media, messaging apps, or your photo library). When you share an image, it is handled entirely by your device and the destination you choose. The Service Provider does not receive, store, or process the images you create or share.

The Application does not use cookies or analytics SDKs. The only tracking-related technology is the advertising identifier used by Google AdMob, and only if you grant permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Friends League data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account in the Application, the data is removed from the Service Provider's servers immediately; backups kept by the hosting provider are overwritten within their standard retention period. Data stored on your device is removed when you delete a list or uninstall the Application.
You can edit or delete any list at any time within the Application, and uninstalling the Application removes all locally stored data from your device. If you have joined the Friends League, you can view, correct and delete your account data directly in the Application. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law, KVKK), you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. The Service Provider does not sell personal information. Personalised advertising may be considered "sharing" under the CPRA; you can opt out by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt or by changing the tracking setting for the Application in your device's Settings. The Application is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personal information, please contact ismet.balat@icloud.com and it will be deleted.
Data stored on your device is protected by the security of your device. Friends League data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected by access rules that allow each record to be read only by its owner and the owner's friends. The Service Provider provides reasonable safeguards for any information it processes but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Friends League data and advertising data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, by the third-party providers listed above under their own safeguards.
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page, and previous versions will be made available upon request by contacting ismet.balat@icloud.com.
